 Season Description
 Fortitude is a place like
nowhere else. Although surrounded by the savage beauty of the Arctic landscape, Fortitude is one of the safest towns on
earth. There has never been a violent crime here. Until now. In such a close-knit community a murder touches everyone
and the unsettling, mysterious horror of this crime threatens the future of the town itself.

 Episode 1
 The isolated community of Fortitude in the Arctic Circle
has never been the scene of a violent crime, so news of a murder rocks the residents.
 
 Episode 2

Sheriff Dan Anderssen investigates alongside newly arrived British detective Eugene Morton, while the killing is a
disaster for Governor Hildur Odegard's plans to market Fortitude as an upmarket tourist destination.
 

Episode 3
 The sheriff continues to shut his rival out of the investigation as he hunts for a potential suspect, so
DCI Morton proceeds with his own inquiries, starting with a visit to ailing wildlife photographer Henry. Elena's
relationship with Frank is put to the test when she learns about his son's injuries, while research scientist Natalie
has doubts about who to trust when Andersen, Morton and Hildur press her for information.
  
 Episode 4

Dan teams up with search-and-rescue pilot Frank to pursue suspect Ronnie Morgan, but the sheriff struggles to contain
his jealousy over Frank's connection with Elena. Meanwhile, Morton uncovers a key piece of evidence at the crime scene
that seems to link the recent murder with another death a few months earlier.

 Markus's
relationship with Shirley is revealed as anything but normal, while Morton uses Dan's recent loss of control to gain the
upper hand in the murder investigation and takes the lead on interrogating their suspect. The situation gets worse for
the sheriff when it is discovered he has been concealing information about the mysterious Spaniard, leaving Hildur
stunned to learn her colleague could be so deceitful, but he then finds a key piece of evidence that puts another person
in the frame.
  
 Episode 6
 A torn fingernail discovered inside Stoddart's body identifies the killer
and sends shock waves through the community, and Morton then turns his attention to the death a few months earlier of
scientist Billy Pettigrew. Elsewhere, Henry asks taxidermist Tavrani for help, Markus tries to nurse and feed his
girlfriend Shirley through an illness and Ronnie is still on the run with daughter Carrie.
 
 Episode 7

Morton visits the nearby town of Vukobejina as part of his investigation into the death of Billy Pettigrew and uncovers
new information that points to a conspiracy at the heart of Fortitude's administration. Meanwhile, Hildur makes a
heartbreaking discovery when she confronts Trish Stoddart and an increasingly volatile Ronnie sees his plan fall apart,
leaving Carrie to take matters into her own hands. Dan makes a rallying speech to the community, but another murder
takes place, more gruesome and horrifying than the first.
 
 Episode 8
 Fear and panic sweeps through the
community as news of the second murder spreads, with Dan and Morton's attention turning to schoolteacher Markus and his
increasingly strange behaviour. Hildur travels to the mainland in an effort to secure help, Frank hopes the latest
events will exonerate Liam, and Carrie returns to Fortitude to get help as Ronnie's health deteriorates.
  

Episode 9
 Frank takes the law into his own hands in a bid to clear Liam's name, while Morton realises Henry may
have vital information about Pettigrew's death. A polar bear carcass arrives at the research centre's lab and as Vincent
and Natalie analyse the corpse, they develop a theory about the recent events in Fortitude, which they feel compelled to
share with Hildur and Dan.
 
 Episode 10
 Henry Tyson retreats into the Arctic wilderness, but Morton is
on his tail as the detective pursues the truth about the death of Billy Pettigrew. Back in Fortitude, a grief-stricken
Markus says a sad farewell to a loved one, while Jason starts to exhibit strange behaviour. At the lab, Vincent and
Natalie conduct a dangerous procedure on Liam and unsettling test results force Hildur to take drastic action.
 
 Episode 11
 Dan races into the frozen wilderness to locate Henry and Morton, but he is forced to reveal the
truth surrounding the death of scientist Billy Pettigrew. Back in Fortitude, Natalie has a disturbing encounter with
Jason, whose behaviour is becoming increasingly bizarre, while her and Vincent's investigation leads to a particularly
strange development in the inquiries into recent events.
 
 Episode 12
 Vincent's investigation leads him
into a life-threatening situation, while Markus offers an alternative theory on what is plaguing Fortitude. Dan and
Hildur launch a desperate hunt for Jason as the need to locate the mammoth carcass escalates and Eric and Yuri go head
to head out in the wilderness. With events taking an unexpected turn in the Arctic community, Sheriff Anderssen must
